I don't know what it is but when I see someone open a metal collectors edition game with a knife it makes me cringe. Tomorrow can't come soon enough!!!
I enjoy COD's campaign but buy it for the multiplayer. November 8th can't some soon enough!
I wonder what the Gears 3 numbers would have been if it were multiplatform.
3D tv's are reasonable now, you can get the 42" Vizio E3D420VX for $650. Though I don't think "3D" is going to encourage people to purchase 3D televisions. I think its the ability to watch 2 programs simultaneously on one screen. Or play split screen games without having to split the screen.

I was lucky enough to pick up Alan Wake for $10 when it went on sale at my local Kmart! (thank you cheapassgamer.com!)

I think this is much better than EA's Online Pass or project $10! You know the one that makes you pay $10 for a code to play online if you bought the game used.
This is aimed squarely at the COD fans, those of us that enjoy playing the game online and will purchase the DLC anyway. Call me a sheep all you want, I like the series and am excited for the monthly DLC ELITE provides. I just pre-ordered the Hardened Edition from Amazon. Baaaaaaaaa! :)

In all seriousness, the ELITE service is obviously not for you. I on the other hand am excited by the monthly DLC and other benefits the service provides for a series that I really enjoy playing.

I think they are specifying "you get to keep the DLC even if your membership expires," because if they didn't, people would ask "do I get to keep the DLC if my membership expires?"
Don't forget, Playstation Plus members are given "free" games each month that they lose access to if they let their membership to Plus expire.
This game looks like it will be a blast to play! Here's hoping it sells enough for a sequel!
I don't see how putting the campaign on one disc and the multiplayer on another is a bad thing. Now I can let my friends borrow the campaign without giving up the multiplayer. Sounds like a win win!!
As a side note, I think this game will be the litmus test for weather or not the 360 is holding back the PS3 in third party development seeing that the PC is the lead platform and looks f*cking amazing. October 25th can't come soon enough!

Microsoft has a 1 month exclusivity deal on the DLC, so PSN's downtime has no effect on their bottom line. I'm sure those that were still playing COD on PSN will be eager to buy the DLC when it releases next month, assuming PSN is back online that is.
I've had 2 360 Elites red ring on me. The first time it happened, Microsoft replaced it with a new system. When it happened the second time they repaired and returned the same unit. Both times I received a 1 month Live card and the second time I complained hard enough and also got an Xbox live camera. I'm not sure way they didn't mention the importance of ghost pro in this article. Anyway, I'm mentioning it now... If you are new to the call of duty series and purchase Black Ops make sure you work on unlocking ghost pro. Ghost keeps you invisable to enemy spy planes and ghost pro keeps enemy killstreaks ie: attack helicopter, chopper gunner, gunship and sentry guns from targeting you. I hope this helps... I'm very excited about Netflix being included in the XMB... Not having to change the disc is going to be so much more convenient. (I know, I'm lazy) And 5.1 audio to boot... its about time Netflix!!! I just hope they have an option for adjusting the aspect ratio of the movies. As it stands now when I watch 4:3 shows via Netflix on my Playstation it stretches them. That doesn't happen on my Xbox or Wii but my Xbox is too loud and the Wii doesn't do HD. Anyway, just my 2 cents. ...
